Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working on TV and in films is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born the only child to Romanian actress Valentin Platareu. Alexandra started her career in show business in the early years of her life. At the age of 16, she was sixteen, she had secured prominent roles in a variety of shows on television. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. The film won an Oscar and received critical and commercial success. Other Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several important international and national projects throughout her career. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
